The Best Time of Year to Get Concrete Leveling Done
If you’ve noticed your sidewalk, driveway, or patio sinking, you might be wondering when’s the best time to fix it. The truth is: the earlier, the better—especially if you want to avoid expensive winter damage.
At Jacked Up Concrete, we perform Polyjacking year-round depending on the job, but spring thru fall are ideal, especially for outdoor jobs. Here’s why.
How Weather Affects Polyjacking
Concrete Leveling involves injecting a polyfoam product under sunken concrete to lift and level it. That process relies on soil stability and manageable moisture levels. Here’s how weather plays into it:
Spring-Summer: The ground thaws out, making it easier to access and lift sunken slabs. Rain is common, but that’s okay!
Fall: Often offers perfect ground moisture and temps for a smooth job.
Winter: Frozen ground makes it hard for us to perform outside work especially because freeze-thaw cycles can worsen sinking if not fixed beforehand. However, if you have work that needs to be leveled in a heated environment or indoors such as a warehouse, we are perfectly capable of doing this work in the “off-season”.
Why Schedule Repairs Before Winter
Once cold weather hits, things get tricky:
Frost heave expands water under slabs, worsening damage
Ice creates safety risks on uneven sidewalks or steps
Repairs are harder to schedule during snow and freeze conditions
The Takeaway: Don’t Wait
By fixing your concrete early in the season, you:
Prevent future damage
Improve safety and curb appeal
